Bay/Bow Windows Installation & Replacements

Bay/Bow

When it comes to your home, you want to maximize your space. A great way to make any room look bigger and add more space to it is to have Landmark Home Solutions install a bay or bow window.

What is a bay window?

Bay windows offer a luxurious way to create extra space in any room. They are made up of a combination of operating and fixed windows and come in 30 & 45 degree angles. Bay windows project outward and are often used along with a wall-built bench to make extra storage space, sitting areas or reading nooks.

You can have a bay window in any room of your home as long as the outside area can accommodate the units protrusion. This style tends to be comprised of three windows with the middle of the system containing a picture window.

What is a bow window?

Simply put, a bow window is a bay window that is curved. Instead of having three windows, bow windows are comprised of four or more. Bow windows point towards the exterior of your home and like their bay brothers, they can be used with a wall-built bench to create a reading nook, sitting area or storage space.

As with a bay window, bow windows can be installed into any room of your house if the outside space has a big enough area for the window to protrude outwards.

What is the difference between the two window styles?

Although bay and bow windows let in ample natural light and are perfect for adding elegance to any room, there are some differences between the two styles. Bay windows have three openings, while bow windows can have four or more. Bow windows are curved, making them appear rounder when you’re looking at them from the outside of the house. Bays are angled and contain a picture window with two smaller windows on either side.

Are bay and bow windows energy efficient?

At Landmark Home Solutions we provide our customers with windows that are functional, stylish and energy efficient. Our bay and bow options are great for locking in heat during the colder months and will keep it out during the summer. Since each style lets in an abundance of natural light, you may not need to keep supplementary illumination sources like lamps on during the day.

If you’re unsure as to whether you want bay or bow windows installed in your home, contact us today. Whether you choose our bow or bay style, you’re getting a superior product.

Bay Windows

Bay windows are a combination of fixed and operating windows. They are a window style that projects outward from the main walls of the house and offer stylish appeal in a range of property spaces. Bay windows are available on the marketplace in 30, 45, and 90 degree angles and most have three openings.

They are also similar to bow windows, which are comprised of an even amount of same-sized frames and are angled to represent a bow effect. Bow windows tend to have more window openings than bay windows, often including at least three window areas. Both bay and bow windows are designed to bring traditional charm to home areas and provide an exceptional source of natural light in the property.

Bow Windows

A bow window is a curved bay window. It’s a window style that features four or more windows linked together to produce a graceful curvature that brings a touch of elegance to the home environment. The clear advantage to the use of bow windows is that they point outwards towards the exterior of the home. This helps increase interior space and brings a dynamic design element to the property. In addition, each of the windows within the bow window design is fixed and designed to bring in the maximum amount of light into your home living space.
